Hello, I'm George McLure, president of Giving Heart of America. 2007 is proving to be a landmark year for us. In February, we announced the expansion of Operation Fallen Hero to include those brave heroes who have been profoundly wounded in combat. By early summer, our vehicle donation program, now well recognized as Houston's premier program of its kind, was successfully producing stellar results for Operation Fallen Hero.
There are way too many people to thank for getting us to where we are, but above all I want to extend my sincerest expression of gratitude to our generous donors. Without you, there would be no Giving Heart of America, and far fewer of our precious military families would have been able to benefit from your wonderful generosity.
Giving Heart of America is a faith-based non-profit organization. We are committed to serving people in need. We believe that God has a purpose for every soul He has created, regardless of any handicap, sickness, disability, or other limitation. And we believe that it is incumbent upon all of us to give of our time, our talent, and our treasure to provide love, care, encouragement, and physical relief to those less fortunate.
Operation Fallen Hero makes a giant leap toward that mission for both wounded heroes and the surviving families of the heroes who didn't make it home.
At Giving Heart of America we are committed to seeing that their sacrifices, and the sacrifices of their spouses and children, are appropriately honored. We are providing help in several forms, including advocacy, direct financial assistance, and college scholarships for the children.
In February, we announced the expansion of Operation Fallen Hero to include those servicemen and servicewomen who have been profoundly injured in their service to us. In many cases, the financial and emotional support needs for such Heroes is lifelong. We have identified two wonderful organizations through which we are providing that support.
We hope you will come along side us as we vigorously and enthusiastically pursue our charitable mission. We need your help. Because that mission is everything to us. It is our purpose, our desire, our motivation, and our passion.
It is our heart.
